What if we could only listen to one genre of music? We would miss so many other incredible composers. My art reflects different moments and times in my search for identities of style. I listen to music while I paint. I have sung in doo-wop, blues and jazz bands which influenced my series over the years. I would dread painting one subject so I bounce from landscapes to abstracts to figurative. The outcome of my art is based on letting my headspace lead me. Actually, I dream of painting. When I wake up I decide what my next move should be on my unfinished work. The passion is direct, not influenced by others. That is when I know I have done a great piece. Let's rock and roll, baby!
